Beyond Bishkek: City, History & Mountains

Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Bishkek

   • Morning: Ala-Too Square, the city's main square. We talk about Kyrgyz history and the monuments to national heroes.
   • Afternoon: a walk around the centre and the National Museum of Fine Arts, with Kyrgyz and foreign art (subject to opening hours).
   • Evening: free time. You can have dinner at a Kyrgyz restaurant — try beshbarmak, plov and shashlyk.
   • Accommodation in Bishkek is not included.

2. Day 2

   Burana Tower & Chon-Kemin Valley

   • Morning: we leave Bishkek and drive east to Chon-Kemin Valley — forest, a river and mountains all around. We take a walk in the valley.
   • Afternoon: Burana Tower, a minaret from the Karakhanid period. We walk around the old town site and the balbal stones and talk about the Silk Road.
   • We return to Chon-Kemin; the evening is free.
   • Meals: lunch and dinner included. Overnight in Chon-Kemin Valley.

3. Day 3

   Ala-Archa & back to Bishkek

   • Morning: we drive back toward Bishkek and stop at Ala-Archa National Park. We walk the trail along the river through the spruce forest, with views of the peaks.
   • Afternoon: time in the park, then the drive to Bishkek.
   • Evening: drop-off at your hotel. End of the tour.
